Monday was, apparently, the start of a sick week for Team Cline. Steven was eerily lethargic on Monday morning. He didn’t want to move or eat. He was a limp little dude. I was worried he might be sick until he was coaxed to drink some milk and started to perk up. I remembered that he’d hardly eaten dinner on Sunday night and we hadn’t had a bedtime snack. My guess is that he had low blood sugar. Poor Bobesies!

Little guy just lying there with Morminer and a blanket.

Less than an hour later… all better!

Tuesday Amaya didn’t go to school because she got sick in the car as they were getting there. I thought maybe it was car sickness but, with a stomach flu going around, the school didn’t want her to attend. Good call because she got sick again later in the day.
But evening, Rosie was down for the count! That meant that Wednesday was a day home with Daddy! Here we had a lethargic Sam Man. My kids may not be morning people! (Sammy was healthy but Amaya got to sleep with a puke bucket and Sammy wanted one, too. Five days later and they both still insist on sleeping with them.)

Since Jason was home with the kids on Wednesday, for the first time we both got to go tot their well check together! Amaya had been fine since noon the prior day but randomly threw up on the way to the doctor’s office. Luckily we still travel with a chance of clothing. She was such a champ about all of it.
Here are the three year stats!
Steven:
27lbs 8oz (11th percentile) up from 25lbs 6oz (7th percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
36″ (16th percentile) up from 34.5″ (18th percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
Sammy:
30lbs 4oz (35th percentile) up from 28lbs (28th percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
37.5″ (51st percentile) up from 36.2″ (60th percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
Amaya:
29lbs 4oz (36th percentile) up from 26lbs 2oz (21st percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
38″ (73rd percentile) up from 36″ (65th percentile) at 2.5 yrs.
It was a true big kid appointment. They had their blood pressure taken with bp cuffs and wore little gowns. So cute! Bonus of the three year well visit is NO POKES!

BIG KIDS!

Sadly, sadly, sadly, by Thursday morning I was sick, too. It was brutal. I’ve heard that everyone gets sick the first year of pre-school. I hope this is the worst for us because it’s been a rough winter. Rosie was still sick so Jason stayed home for a 2nd day.
Crafts with Daddy!

I was better by Friday but Amaya had thrown up on Thursday morning so she had another day home while the boys were at school. Since Rosie was still recovering, too, she had a special treat and got to watch a morning movie – Happy Feet!

Hopefully Steven and Sammy were spared. It all started on Tuesday so I’m cautiously optimistic.
Here are our sleeping beauties…

Sammy’s crib, lol. Steven has that photo of me on the floor by his crib and there’s a battery operated nightlight on it. Sammy says he doesn’t want to see the light so we set up this curtain on his crib every night. These kids are so funny.

Saturday morning we had rescheduled family photos from last weekend which we canceled due to colds. Unfortunately, Jason caught the bug and was stuck in bed. Rather than reschedule again, we decided to do a lifestyle shoot with the kids and we’ll reschedule the full family photos.
With Jason in bed, I needed to shower and we can’t leave the kids downstairs on their own yet. (Or we won’t. Either way, same end result.) Wonder Pets to the rescue! A huge benefit of limited tv time is that you can successfully use it in emergency situations.

For a while I’ve wanted to get photos of Steven, Sammy and Amaya holding their nicu baby pictures. This was our chance! Steven was asking about the tube in his nose. I remember making the distinct choice to leave them in since it represented them at that time in their life. I’m so glad I did.

Amaya was being a little bit of a stinker, refusing to take photos on her own. Even m&m bribes didn’t work as well as I thought they would. (And, yes, she picked the skirt and leggings to go with her shirt.)

I think we got some great shots! I can’t wait to see the photos. Here are a few of the photo shoot in action.

SSA were so happy to see Megan gain. Just four more weeks until she’s back!

Somewhat recently, the kids have started complaining that their milk cups are cold. Makes sense. They are. I finally found a solution! Socks!! Their socks fit perfectly around the cups and cut the cold enough that it’s not an issue. Whoo hoo!

We’re still working on cleaning up our toys but I was really impressed by SSA’s team work cleaning up stickers that were everywhere. I think they made some kind of game of it and did a great job. Hope is not lost! Overall, they definitely seem to be playing together more frequently and with more intention. Now that we watch Wonder Pets, their buzzword is “Teamwork”. They’ll do something together, like carry their little people farm, and say “teamwork” in unison over and over again. So cute! Steven has a doctor game with Amaya where he has her stand on a step stool in a certain spot and then he stands on a step stool right in front her her and gives Amaya her medicine. They’ve played this same game a few times now. It’s so much fun to watch them together.

One more collaboration story! When Jason was home with the kids on Wednesday, Amaya pooped on the potty and Sammy wanted to try. Amaya sat with him and encouraged him saying, “I pushed it our real hard, Sammy, so push it out.” 🙂
Today, a lazy Sunday, the kids had fun helping Daddy with his baseball cards. They’re very excited about the label maker!

Steven, examining a card.

Playing with markers at the table, Steven, Sammy and Amaya made marker towers and tried to reach the light over the table. So funny!

Helping Daddy unload groceries is still a favorite activity. Everyone was eating dinner and, the minute they heard the garage door, they all insisted they were done eating. I hope this keeps up through the teen years!

Steven this week!
Steven is into matching and order. In the first picture you can see that he lined up Tupperware and filled it with food. In the 2nd, he was putting all of the little people in a line. Bobes likes order.

Sammy this week!
Working on ball cards with his daddy.

Proud to drink from an open cup.

The lounging and the boots crack me up!

Mr. Potato Head

Amaya this week!
Mrs. Potato Head. SSA are getting very good at putting Mr. and Mrs. together.

Chilling on the floor.

All in pink, down to the boots!

Amaya looooooves her chapstick. I had to buy a 2nd to keep in her room because she always wants it before going to sleep.

That’s it for the week! Have a good one!
Steven is so like his dad. Jason was all about order as a kid. He was the only kid I knew that had things in folders. Hope the sickness is done.
Hope everyone feels better & stays healthy!
